Reconsidering "Sarbanes-Oxley" Software Solutions

There are many good reasons to invest in strong Records Management systems, but it increasingly appears the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance may not be a good one. In a very useful and detailed review of the U.S. legistation and it's impact on IT, CIO Magazine points out that the regulation itself has been significantly watered down (perhaps that's not good news...), but in any case, achieving Sarbnes-Oxley compliance -- like achieving so many things in this world -- should not typically require a major investment in software...
