Tidying Up Your Site
You may have heard about several new content migration tools hitting the marketplace, driven in part by the growing adoption of XML-based content management packages. We'd just like to pause and give homage to a more humble specification -- "XHTML" -- and a nifty little utility, "HTML Tidy." Get your HTML into XHTML compliance. It will help you migrate to a CMS more easily, and enable you to do what practical people are compelled to do nearly everyhere: mingle presentation and structural mark-up in one system. HTML Tidy is a proven, open-source tool that can help you reach XHTML compliance. It comes in several server-based variants, and the intrepid Charlie Reitzel maintains a nice GUI for Windows desktops. No excuse for not using it, folks...
