Updated WCM Vendor Evaluations Show Hybrid Architecture Trend

RSG has updated a dozen key vendor evaluations in our WCM research stream. This past quarter we emphasized vendors for which we receive the most inquiries, including:

  • Adobe
  • Amplience
  • Brightspot
  • Contentful
  • Contentstack
  • Coremedia
  • Drupal / Acquia
  • Episerver
  • e-Spirit
  • Magnolia
  • Sitecore
  • Tridion

A key finding this past half-year is that the market is increasingly favoring "hybrid-headless" architectures to address diverse enterprise WCM use cases.  Today's release explains more.

With this update, we are also removing the "Low-end Platforms" category.  Today, WYSIWYG site builders like SquareSpace and Wix have evolved to fill the niche that simpler WCM tools held in the past.  RSG's enterprise subscribers sometimes still do require a range of complexity in WCM solutions Yet they can increasingly find that in one platform, or alternatively rely on a simple hosted service for properties like perishable micro-sites.  Meanwhile, it's noteworthy that WordPress has successfully evolved into what RSG labels a "Mid-range Platform," and thus stayed above the flood.
